History: Lost Mobility Sand Wave Drift

Sovrn Marfa 2025

Mobility was getting ready for the fantastic Sovrn Art pop-up event in Marfa, Texas on October 17-18, 2025.

The event plan was to feature art from 9 artists all around the desert theme: Pindar Van Arman, Anne Spalter, Bård Ionson, Norman Harman, Mikey Woodbridge, Martin Lukas Ostachowski, Isa Kost, Look Highward, and bashobits.

Everything was going to plan…

…but somehow while Mobility was drifting in the sand towards Marfa, some Mobility pieces were lost.

Lost Mobility

Reviewing the pieces, there was one lost piece from each of the first four collections from the Mobility Series:

Dr. Decrypt from Seasons of Mobility

Misled Departure Labels from Memories of Mobility

Desert Lumi from Memories of Mobility

Sand Wave Entangled Megalopolis with Balance and Sun from Ghosts of Mobility

But how could we find them?

We put out a message asking for help!

Although we had no idea who would find them, getting help from others gave us at least a chance.

Sand Wave

Still, we were not very optimistic. To find them, someone would have to drift through five Gates in the Sand Waves as a Ghost of Mobility, and then who knows what else afterwards.

To make things even harder, the sand was full of ghost cactuses, and many people who tried ended up hitting a ghost cactus. What if the end result was just a bunch of Ghosts of Mobility fossils in the desert sand?

Sand Success

It turns out that the Mobility collector community is fast, real fast! So we were wrong to be worried.

The Lost Mobility in Sand Wave Drift were soon found and recovered by artbot.eth who raced ahead of everyone else.

Were there some Ghosts of Mobility fossils left in the sand during the process by the failed attempts? Yes.

But even so, asking for help to find these lost art pieces was definitely the right move!

Mobility follows the philosophy of Mobilism, which states that “life is motion” and the history of the Lost Mobility in Sand Wave Drift is a perfect example of how motion creates life!
